In today's Gospel reading (//Luke 18:18-27//), a certain ruler asked Our Lord what he needed to "inherit eternal life". Jesus' response was for him to keep the Commandments. The ruler replied that he had indeed kept the Commandments. When Jesus heard this He said there one more thing the ruler had to do. "Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." The ruler went away "very sorrowful" because he was very rich. In today's Gospel reading (//Luke 18:18-27//), a certain ruler asked Our Lord what he needed to "inherit eternal life".  Our God does not abide by idols. Idols are anything that is preferred to God. This includes the desire for money or power.  So let us pray today for the grace to love God and His children enough to give up the things that keep us from God. God bless you in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. So let us pray today for the grace to love God and His children enough to give up the things that keep us from God.
